Cedrus Saunas are designed
to perfectly complement your everyday life. To start
enjoying the benefits of a Cedrus Sauna the only
things you will need are 4 1/2 'x4 1/2 ' floor-space
and a 120 Volt 15 or 20 amp electrical outlet. The
sauna is very easy to install and does not require
any tools, extra ventilation, plumbing or expensive
electrical wiring. Cedrus Saunas equally hassle-free
to take apart and move around, with easy-clip buckles
to allow maximum portability.
All our Cedrus Saunas are
made of Canadian Western Red Cedar, which is naturally
anti-fungal and naturally anti-bacterial. Canadian
Western Red Cedar is splinter-proof and contains
material that prevents rot and fungus - it has also
been finished with a clear coat on the outside to
guarantee durability. A Cedrus Sauna will provide
a lifetime of maintenance-free enjoyment.

Why cedar is Best?
|
|
A: The traditional sauna
for thousands of years has been made predominately
from close grain cedar
for many obvious reasons:
- Cedarwood is soft wood that resists the cracking
and splitting caused by the heating up and cooling
down in the sauna. No sauna wood lasts longer
than cedarwood.
- Cedarwood contains aromatic oils that are known
for their healing and cleansing properties to
aid detoxification during the sauna. A simple
search on "amazon.com" yields the following
information. "Cedarwood(oil)is widely used
in the cosmetic and perfume industry, especially
for men's toiletries. It also breaks down mucus,
making it useful for treating catarrhal conditions,
such as bronchitis, asthma and other breathing
difficulties. Cedarwood can also help disperse
excess fluids throughout the body."
- Cedarwood is naturally anti-fungal and naturally
anti-bacterial owing to the unique properties
of the cedar oil. This is especially important
in the sauna where bodies, moisture and heat combine
to make the environment perfect for molds and
bacteria. When woods other than cedar are used
the sauna must be carefully sterilized before
and after use, usually with harsh chemicals that
remain to be breathed in by the next sauna user.
Cedar wood eliminates the need for harsh chemicals.
- Cedarwood is one of the most beautiful woods
available ranging from a very light honey, mellow
ambers, reddish cinnamons to rich sienna brown
and deep walnut shades.
- Cedarwood smells good and gives you a true
experience. Normally a "non-aromatic" cedar
is used in sauna construction that is very subtle
and satisfying to the senses.
- Cedarwood can be easily sanded inside the
sauna to remove any stains caused by perspiration
and to bring back the fresh cedar smell.
Please note that an extremely small percentage
of the population cannot tolerate the smell of
cedarwood. These people have multiple chemical
sensitivities(MCS). These people cannot as a rule
tolerate any aromatic oils, perfumes, shampoos
or herbs. This is unfortunate, but for the rest
of us, cedarwood is the sauna wood of choice.

Does the size (surface area) of the heater
make a difference?
|
Top |
| A: ABSOLUTELY. According
to the laws of physics a larger size heater means
more surface area, resulting in a lower surface
temperature. By spreading the heat over a larger
area it produces more FAR or LONG wave infrared
heat which is more therapeutic for your body.
Our unique, one of a kind heaters are made of 100%
ceramic, a safe and natural element of the earth.
NOTE: We do not sell any Carbon Fibre(glass) emitters,
we only use Ceramic- the original - natural and
safe. And only Cedrus has a patent on our ceramic
heaters. You will not see our heaters in any other
Sauna on the market.

Will I need to hire an electrician or upgrade
to 220 volt?
|
Top |
|
A: Because of Cedrus Saunas'
290 square inch Quantum Wave Technology ceramic
infrared heaters, there is no need to upgrade any
of our models to 220 volt. Models AIS-3000, AIS-4000,
AIS-4500, AIS-5000 will need a 20 amp service installed.

Is the warranty on the cabinetry important?
|
Top |
A: ABSOLUTELY. Most other
brands give you a 1 year or 5 year warranty on the
wood cabinetry. Remember, your sauna is a hot box!
What will you do if the wood warps or cracks due to
excess heat over time? All Cedrus Saunas come with
a lifetime warranty on the cabinetry (as well as controls
and heaters).
- FSI class warranty
- Heaters: Lifetime
- Cabinetry: Lifetime
- Electrical Components: Lifetime

What is the optimum infrared frequency for
an infrared sauna?
|
Top |
|
A: The result of Cedrus Sauna's 290 square inch
surface area allows for the lowest surface temperature
of any other infrared heater. This means the best
performance well within this vital wave range of
7 to 14 microns with a good portion of wavelengths
at 9.4--which is the frequency at which a water
molecule resonates or vibrates. This vibration
causes a release of cellular toxins such as mercury,
aluminum, cholesterol and other toxic gases.

Is Infrared heat safe? Is it like a microwave
or a tanning bed?
|
Top |
| A: Infrared heat is completely safe. In fact, it
is so safe, hospitals use similar heaters to warm
newborns. Infrared heat is part of the very safe
bandwidth of light, unlike ultraviolet (tanning beds)
or microwaves.
Safety of Infrared Heat
Infrared light is
part of the Sun's invisible spectrum. One of Far-Infrared
light's characteristics is the ability to easily
penetrate human tissue. When this happens, it creates
a natural resonance, which has many beneficial
properties. Remember the last time you were sunbathing
with sunscreen? Were you still hot? Of course you
were because the sunscreen only stops the UV (Ultraviolet)
light from hitting your skin. The Far-Infrared
heat (FIR light waves) penetrates your skin, giving
you that wonderful natural warmth.
You can be exposed to Far-Infrared heat for hours
and it will never cause your skin to burn. Far-Infrared
heat is completely healthy and safe for all living
things.
